I suppose my only real questions would be on how The Brain was able to function (Was it like a 3D printer of sorts?) as that chapter confused me a bit. This was an impressive work that reeled in a casual sci fi novice, and made me really see why the culture has many followers.

Calvin, I found myself liking robots more than humans, although I have to admit I enjoyed the characters and interactions of Mike Donovan and Greg Powell. It presents the evolution of robot models that are originally unable to communicate with humans, to machines that run civiliazation and keep humanity at a happy equilibrium. From at the onset being presented with the Laws of Robotics, and having them play such a critical and central part in the whole book.really well done. I am not sure I caught all the nuances of this book, but as I said it reads out like a history of robotics.and it's excellent. Why not center a brilliant android film (or series) around a strong female lead playing Dr. How did they make a movie of this book that was not awesome? For fun, I looked up the cast to see what character Will Smith plays, only to laugh when I saw he plays some detective who doesn't even appear in the book. I decided to give I, Robot a go having never seen the film, but having heard it was pretty meh. I read 2001: A Space Odyssey which aligned beautifully with the movie, and even was a slight enhancement. I read I Am Legend which was grossly different then the film. Lately I have been making a concerted effort to read books that had movie adaptations. I am immediately listening to OK Computer and Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots tonight, in honor of completing this book. For a beginner to the genre, this book left me wanting more.

This book was whimsical in spots, and oddly and deeply philosophic in others, and it made for a really interesting and quick read. I never had a real fancy for robots or android themes before, but there is definitely a real culture to them, and I felt it I'm finally getting into it. I was truly not expecting a chronicled, historied exegesis on robots and philosophy concerning robots. I just wrapped up I, Robot by Isaac Asimov and wow.
